This small office building for incubating start-up companies is located in a multi-use neighborhood where dominant architectural type is still the industrial shed. The copper-clad prefabricated steel structure houses an open-plan office space, designed to promote teamwork. Support functions are located in a concrete block core on the first floor and in a storage box that partitions the second floor. Acoustic tectum panels animate the perimeter walls and veiling with a pattern of colors and thicknesses. Simple materials are used throughout to defer to the owner’s collection of paintings and black and white photographs.
